The MAX232ESE is one member of the the MAX220 to MAX249 family of line drivers/receivers which is intended for all EIA/TIA-232E and V.28/V.24 communications interfaces, particularly applications where ±12V is not available. Its temperature range would be from -40°C to +85°C and its pin-package would be 16 narrow SO. It has five applications. (1) Portable computers. (2) Low power modems. (3) Interface translation. (4) Battery powered RS-232 systems. (5) Multidrop RS-232 networks. That are all the main applications.
